Tokyo Auto Salon is the world's biggest custom car show and the start of Japan's motoring year. Tuning houses, aftermarket brands and car makers' performance divisions fill every hall at Makuhari Messe with wild builds, concept cars and race machinery.

The 2026 show had 389 exhibitors displaying 856 vehicles, with more than 272,000 visitors, exhibitors and officials over three days. Car makers increasingly use it to unveil tuned and racing versions of their road cars, alongside Japan's famous independent tuners.
