The biggest car shows draw hundreds of thousands, and in some cases more than a million, visitors in a single week. This guide covers the largest motor shows, custom car shows, classic car fairs, concours and car festivals happening around the world in 2027, with dates, venues and what makes each one worth the trip. Every show links to its full page, with opening hours, ticket prices and directions.

We rank “biggest” by attendance and exhibitor numbers where organizers publish them, and by global importance where they don't. Dates marked “expected” haven't been announced yet; we show the month each event is traditionally held and update the listing as soon as the organizer confirms.

The biggest car shows in the world, at a glance

  • Auto Shanghai (Apr 23 – May 2, 2027): about 1.01 million visitors in 2025, with 1,366 vehicles and 163 world premieres. The biggest motor show of 2027.
  • Japan Mobility Show (Oct 30 – Nov 9, 2027): around 1.01 million visitors and a record 522 exhibitors in 2025.
  • Bharat Mobility Global Expo (Feb 4 – Feb 9, 2027): India's national expo, with 983,522 visitors and 1,500+ exhibitors in 2025.
  • Bangkok International Motor Show (Mar 24 – Apr 4, 2027): Southeast Asia's biggest show and a huge car sales event, reported at more than a million visitors over twelve days.
  • Woodward Dream Cruise (Aug 21, 2027): the world's largest one-day car event, with around 40,000 classic cars and up to a million or more spectators.
  • British Grand Prix (Jul 2 – Jul 4, 2027): about 564,000 fans in 2026, a Formula 1 attendance record.
  • Salão do Automóvel de São Paulo (Oct 30 – Nov 7, 2027): Latin America's biggest show, with 516,000 visitors in 2025.
  • Seoul Mobility Show (Apr 1 – Apr 11, 2027): 400,000+ visitors and 451 exhibitors in 2025.
  • Brussels Motor Show (Jan 8 – Jan 17, 2027): Europe's biggest consumer motor show in 2027, with almost 350,000 visitors in 2026.
  • SEMA Show (Nov 2 – Nov 5, 2027): the world's biggest automotive aftermarket trade show, with 2,000+ exhibiting brands and about 150,000 industry visitors.
  • Tokyo Auto Salon (Jan 15 – Jan 17, 2027): the world's biggest custom car show, with 389 exhibitors and 856 cars in 2026.

The biggest international motor shows of 2027

International motor shows are where car makers reveal new models. Europe's traditional giants have shrunk or changed format, so in 2027 the biggest shows are in Asia and the Americas. Paris and Germany's IAA alternate years, and Geneva has moved to Qatar, so neither Paris nor Geneva has a 2027 edition in Europe.

Auto Shanghai

Apr 23 – May 2, 2027 · National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, China

China alternates between Shanghai and Beijing, and 2027 is Shanghai's turn for the full show. It fills the vast National Exhibition and Convention Center next to Hongqiao airport. More than 70% of the vehicles shown in 2025 were electric or plug-in hybrids, making it the best place to see where the car industry is heading.

Japan Mobility Show

Oct 30 – Nov 9, 2027 · Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan

The former Tokyo Motor Show has widened to cover all forms of mobility. Expect concept cars and world premieres from Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru and the rest of Japan's car makers, alongside tech companies and start-ups at Tokyo Big Sight.

Bharat Mobility Global Expo

Feb 4 – Feb 9, 2027 · Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, India

The successor to India's Auto Expo spreads across Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in Delhi. In 2025 the Motor Show alone had 90 vehicle launches, most of them electric. The expo is now held every two years, so 2027 is the next chance to see it.

North American International Auto Show (Detroit)

Jan 12 – Jan 24, 2027 · Huntington Place, Detroit, United States

America's most famous car show, held in the Motor City since 1907. Detroit is known for its indoor test tracks: the 2025 show gave more than 100,000 test drives on four tracks inside Huntington Place.

Chicago Auto Show

Feb 13 – Feb 21, 2027 · McCormick Place, Chicago, United States

North America's largest auto show by floor space and its longest-running, first held in 1901. It drew about 217,000 visitors in 2025.

New York International Auto Show

Mar 26 – Apr 4, 2027 · Javits Center, New York, United States

North America's oldest auto show fills more than 850,000 square feet across four levels of the Javits Center in Manhattan.

Salão do Automóvel de São Paulo

Oct 30 – Nov 7, 2027 · Distrito Anhembi, São Paulo, Brazil

São Paulo's show returned in 2025 after a seven-year break and immediately became one of the biggest in the world again. Stellantis, Toyota, Hyundai, Renault, Kia and the Caoa brands confirmed early for 2027.

Seoul Mobility Show

Apr 1 – Apr 11, 2027 · KINTEX, Goyang, South Korea

Korea's biennial show at KINTEX is where Hyundai, Kia and Genesis stage world premieres. In 2025 Hyundai unveiled the new NEXO and IONIQ 6, and Kia revealed the Tasman Weekender.

Bangkok International Motor Show

Mar 24 – Apr 4, 2027 · IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand

Bangkok's show is as much a marketplace as an exhibition: visitors book tens of thousands of new cars and motorcycles during its twelve days at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.

Brussels Motor Show

Jan 8 – Jan 17, 2027 · Brussels Expo, Brussels, Belgium

The Brussels Motor Show is one of the world's oldest motor shows and a genuine sales event, with dealers offering special “salon conditions” throughout the show. The 2026 edition had 67 car and van brands and 28 motorcycle brands.

Automobile Barcelona

Apr 10 – Apr 18, 2027 · Fira de Barcelona Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain

Spain's main motor show moves to the larger Gran Via venue for its 44th edition, with a focus on EVs and connected cars.

IAA Mobility

Sep 7 – Sep 12, 2027 · Messe München, Munich, Germany

Germany's international show has two parts: the paid IAA Summit at Messe München for the trade, and the free Open Space across Munich's city-centre squares. More than 500,000 people visited in 2025.

The biggest custom car and aftermarket shows

SEMA Show

Nov 2 – Nov 5, 2027 · Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, United States

SEMA is the trade show where the aftermarket launches its new parts, wheels and accessories, surrounded by hundreds of custom builds from the world's top shops. Tuesday to Thursday are trade-only; in recent years the public has been able to buy tickets for Friday and SEMA Fest.

Tokyo Auto Salon

Jan 15 – Jan 17, 2027 · Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan

The start of Japan's motoring year and the biggest custom car show anywhere. Japan's legendary tuners share Makuhari Messe with car makers' performance divisions, many of which use it to launch tuned and racing versions of their road cars.

Essen Motor Show

expected November 2027 · Messe Essen, Essen, Germany

Europe's festival of tuning, performance, motorsport and classics: around 500 exhibitors across 110,000 square metres, plus a motorsport arena with live demonstrations.

Summernats 39

Jan 7 – Jan 10, 2027 · Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC), Canberra, Australia

Australia's biggest street machine festival: four days of burnouts, cruising, elite show cars and concerts at Exhibition Park in Canberra.

Also worth the trip: Osaka Auto Messe (Japan's second big custom show), Detroit Autorama and its Ridler Award, the Grand National Roadster Show (the world's longest-running indoor car show), the Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals and the NSRA Street Rod Nationals, the world's biggest gathering of street rods.

The biggest classic car shows

Retromobile

Feb 3 – Feb 7, 2027 · Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris, France

Paris's great winter classic car show, with top European dealers, clubs, auctions and museum-quality themed exhibitions at Porte de Versailles. Around 150,000 visitors attended the 50th edition in 2026.

Auto e Moto d'Epoca

expected October 2027 · BolognaFiere, Bologna, Italy

Italy's largest classic vehicle fair fills 14 halls at BolognaFiere with more than 5,000 cars and motorcycles. It's one of Europe's biggest classic car marketplaces.

Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show

expected November 2027 · NEC, Birmingham, United Kingdom

The UK's biggest classic car show: more than 300 car clubs, 450+ traders, the country's biggest indoor autojumble and around 600 classics for sale across seven NEC halls.

Hershey AACA Eastern Fall Meet

expected October 2027 · Hersheypark, Hershey, United States

The world's largest antique car flea market and car corral, held in the first full week of October since 1955.

More big classic shows in 2027: InterClassics Maastricht, Retro Classics Stuttgart, the Bremen Classic Motorshow and the twice-yearly Daytona Turkey Run, with 7,000+ cars at Daytona International Speedway over Thanksgiving weekend.

The biggest concours d'elegance

Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

The world's most prestigious classic car show: over 200 of the finest collector cars on the 18th fairway, with Best of Show crowned at the end of the day. The 2026 winner was a 1935 Duesenberg SSJ originally owned by Clark Gable. It's the finale of Monterey Car Week, the biggest week of the collector car calendar, with The Quail, historic racing at Laguna Seca and auctions from every major house.

Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este

May 21 – May 23, 2027 · Villa d'Este & Villa Erba, Cernobbio, Italy

The world's oldest concours (since 1929), on the shores of Lake Como. The public can see the cars and vote for the Coppa d'Oro at neighbouring Villa Erba.

Also on the 2027 calendar: The Amelia, the Arizona Concours d'Elegance (celebrating Ferrari's 80th anniversary) and the London Concours.

The biggest car festivals, auctions and cruises

Goodwood Festival of Speed

Jul 15 – Jul 18, 2027 · Goodwood House, Chichester, United Kingdom

The world's greatest celebration of motoring: everything from pre-war Grand Prix cars to current F1 cars and hypercars tackles the 1.16-mile hillclimb past Goodwood House. Its sister event, the Goodwood Revival, recreates racing from 1948–1966, with almost everyone in period dress.

Woodward Dream Cruise

Aug 21, 2027 · Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, United States

Around 40,000 classic and muscle cars cruise 16 miles of Woodward Avenue through nine Detroit-area communities. Free for spectators, and the world's largest one-day car event.

Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale

Jan 23 – Jan 31, 2027 · WestWorld of Scottsdale, Scottsdale, United States

The flagship collector car auction, now nine days long. In 2026 it sold all 1,911 cars offered at no reserve for more than $191 million.

Mecum Kissimmee

Jan 5 – Jan 17, 2027 · Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, United States

The world's largest collector car auction by number of cars, with around 4,500 vehicles and more than 140,000 visitors in 2026.

The biggest motorsport weekends for car fans

  • 24 Hours of Le Mans (Jun 9 – Jun 13, 2027): the 95th running of the world's greatest endurance race.
  • Indianapolis 500 (May 28 – May 30, 2027): the biggest single-day sporting event in the world, with 300,000+ fans.
  • British Grand Prix (Jul 2 – Jul 4, 2027): Formula 1's best-attended race.
  • Monaco Grand Prix (Jun 4 – Jun 6, 2027): F1's most famous street circuit.
  • Daytona 500 (Feb 21, 2027): NASCAR's season opener.

Tips for visiting the biggest car shows

  • Book early. Le Mans full-week passes sold out within a day for 2026, and Goodwood Saturday tickets regularly sell out.
  • Go on a weekday. Most big shows are far quieter Monday to Thursday than at weekends.
  • Buy online. Many shows are cheaper in advance, and some (like SEMA's Friday) sell no tickets at the door.
  • Check trade-only days. SEMA, Automechanika and parts of some Asian shows are reserved for industry visitors.
  • Confirm dates before you travel. We mark every listing whose dates aren't yet confirmed by the organizer.

The Woodward Dream Cruise draws the most people in a single day. Among indoor shows, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest by floor space, Detroit is the most famous, and SEMA in Las Vegas (Nov 2 – Nov 5, 2027) is the biggest trade show, with 2,000+ exhibiting brands.

What is the biggest car show in Europe in 2027?

The Brussels Motor Show (Jan 8 – Jan 17, 2027) is Europe's biggest consumer motor show in 2027, with almost 350,000 visitors in 2026. IAA Mobility in Munich drew 500,000+ in 2025 across its free city-centre Open Space, and the Goodwood Festival of Speed is Europe's biggest motoring festival.

Is the Paris or Geneva Motor Show on in 2027?

No. The Paris Motor Show runs in even-numbered years, alternating with IAA in Germany, so the next Paris show is in 2028. The Geneva International Motor Show stopped running in Geneva after 2024 and has moved to Qatar.

Can the public go to the SEMA Show?

SEMA is a trade show. Tuesday to Thursday are for registered industry visitors only; in recent years the public could buy tickets for the Friday, which includes SEMA Fest.
